When stadium rock was still in its training nappies and giant lemons were but a twinkle in Bono’s twenty-four year old eyes.

#Monday. As we prepped for a (Canadian) thanksgiving feast at the weekend we were prompted to also give last minute thanks for the unexpected arrival of Tame Impala’s sophomore album in the mail. While we can’t claim to have been won over by the record in it’s entirety (yet), both ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’ and ‘Nothing That Has Happened So Far Has Been Anything We Could Control’ soundtracked some magical culinary moments for us. Tasty.

#Monday. About to head off to the opening ceremony rehearsals for some low profile event that’s kicking off on Friday and could not think of a more ‘fitting’ tune. Used to wonder if this song spawned ‘Live To Tell’ before it went off to war?

#Wednesday. This track is as good an indication as any of how we feel about the last four days on British shores. Unclear if it’s all been a nightmarish echo from a parallel world that no longer exists (or should exist) … or just, in fact, a LOT of very ridiculous fun featuring the unimpeachable triumvirate that is burnt sausages, sponge cake and best bitter. We seem to be hedging towards the latter but it’s still more than a little hard to call it right now.

#Friday. What are the odds of this finding its way onto Queenie’s private playlist when she goes for her Thames barge ride on Sunday? Possibly not quite the kind of jubilation she’ll be looking for. It’ll do for her less refined subjects like us though.
