#Monday. Possibly our favourite pop song of Two Thousand and Twelve.

#Monday. We know Wallinger made a bob or two from the Robbie cover and probably even more from the Shawn Colvin version of ‘When The Rainbow Comes’ (Armageddon OST, 1998), but in the parallel world that we still want to live in this would have been the one that really made him the big bucks.

Teleman – Cristina

Released on Moshi Moshi 13/1/2013 (link)

#Monday. Ever succumb to the suspicion that all you’re hearing are bad songwriters being passed off as good and mediocre pop songs with lazy production being touted as classic examples of their genre? It seems without realising it that we’ve allowed a certain amount of musical faith to ebb in recent days. The debut from Teleman might not shake the funk from us completely, but it’s certainly got some strong medicinal properties that we encourage you to try out if you are suffering from any similar maladies.

The Mary Onettes – Evil Coast (Radio Edit)

#Monday. It’s possible we’ve reached saturation point on this one, but just to test that theory …

#US Election. Pondering preferred soundtracks to Election 2012 monitoring tomorrow? So are we now you mention it. Twisted and sombre in tone yet inexorably forward moving, the title track from the new album by Pye Corner Audio (Producer Martin Jenkins) might just fit the bill.

Susanne Sundfør – White Foxes (Man Without Country Remix)

#Monday. As we prepped for a (Canadian) thanksgiving feast at the weekend we were prompted to also give last minute thanks for the unexpected arrival of Tame Impala’s sophomore album in the mail. While we can’t claim to have been won over by the record in it’s entirety (yet), both ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’ and ‘Nothing That Has Happened So Far Has Been Anything We Could Control’ soundtracked some magical culinary moments for us. Tasty.
