Stan says: #Wednesday. Our favourite track from the Coves EP that AES tipped us off to recently. Listen to the full ep on bandcamp here.

Stan says: #Wednesday. Nothing like a bit of heavy synth padding to smooth out those mid week glitches.
Mint Julep – Days Gone By (Helios Remix)
January 11, 2012 § Leave a comment
Original version taken from the album ‘Save your Season’
Out now on Village Green
Stan says: #Wednesday. We’re hoping that Helios cut Mint Julep a good deal when it came to reworking this track. We still think it’s better than the original though, so either way … he should think about hiring himself for remix work more often.
Twin Sister – Kimmi In A Rice Field

Taken from the album ‘In Heaven’
Out now on Domino (iTunes)

Stan says: #Wednesday. Amidst a competition induced glut of remixes, the original version from Twin Sister’s recent long player remains our favourite by a country mile. It may be about alien abduction but we can’t help but think it’s got a little bit of seasonal spirit hidden away in there too.

Active Child – You Are All I See
November 23, 2011 § Leave a comment
Taken from the album ‘You Are All I See’
Out now on Vagrant (iTunes)
Stan says: #Wednesday. The debut album by Active Child has more than a few similarly sculpted progenitors from the last few years, but in our view (and pretty much without exception), it achieves it’s goals better than all of them. Amongst the clutch of gems contained within it, the title track remains a firm autumn favourite on the GPS surround sound.
Tunng – Jenny Again
December 14, 2011 § Leave a comment
Taken from the album ‘Comments Of The Inner Chorus’ (iTunes)
Out now on Full Time Hobby
Stan says: #Wednesday. Following the release of their ‘Live From The BBC’ album last week (iTunes), Tunng have been taking up a healthy amount of our musical listening time once again. We love the live version of ‘Jenny Again’ but a freshly conducted straw poll still has the original coming out a shade ahead ’round here.
