#Wednesday. So where are we now? It’s getting harder and harder to figure out what musical decade we’re supposed to be in. Back in the ’80’s with a worn out JAMC tape bleeding from the walkman? Over indulging in J.Spaceman circa ’92? Maybe even digging out that copy of Engineers that we were quite excited about until it got synched in a shampoo commercial and was ruined forever? Despite all the time/space confusion we’re feeling, it’s comforting that albums like ‘Spooky Action At A Distance’ are finding their way into the light. We haven’t yet forced ourselves to listen to the new Spiritualized album (largely for fear of the near certain disappointment that will follow), but good or bad the second album by Deerhunter guitarist Pundt’s Lotus Plaza project carries no such weight of expectation for us – and those that it does carry it is exceeding quite nicely.
