It’s been a while since we listened to this. Still one of our favourite pop songs from the last year or so.

As it turns out the right tune really can make annual accounts a halfway to bearable process. Just.

We know enough people with a strong historical dislike of PSB’s to tend to tread carefully when mentioning them in conversation. But this is entirely our favourite pop tune of the last month. And come on, how can you not want to party like it’s 1988 when that chiming synth line comes in at 2m15s?

Released on Moshi Moshi 13/1/2013 (link)
#Monday. Ever succumb to the suspicion that all you’re hearing are bad songwriters being passed off as good and mediocre pop songs with lazy production being touted as classic examples of their genre? It seems without realising it that we’ve allowed a certain amount of musical faith to ebb in recent days. Taken from ‘An Album by Korallreven’
Out now on Hybris/Acéphale (iTunes)
Stan says: #Wednesday. Having spent much of the afternoon plotting choral recordings with our classical mafia there are few tracks that fit the bill in Stan central right now more than the second track from the newly released long-player by Korallreven (featuring the vocals of Julianna Barwick). The Swedish duo have been all over the blogosphere of late and it’s not surprising given the strength of their debut. Stream the full album by Korallreven here.
